This power module generates all voltages to supply a class-D audio amplifier. The main output voltage is 36V and delivers 200W continuously and 540W peak. The first stage is a power-factor corrected Boost. A Flyback converter supplies 12V on primary side as well as 12V @ 300mA and 3.3V @ 200mA on secondary side. A hardware switch + remote input let the converter enter in stand-by mode: in this status the 36V output is disabled and 12V, 3.3V are "always on". This way the stand-by power is reduced down to 150mW @ 115Vac and 270mW @ 230Vac. A second digital input switches the main output voltage from 36V to 18V, allowing low current consumption mode in case of the audio amplifier needs less power.

PMP10407 is a quasi-resonant Flyback power suppy based on the UCC28730 primary side regulation (PSR) controller demonstrating the use of wake up device UCC24650 to achieve rapid load transient response from light load condition when the system is under low frequency operation. The elimination of optocoupler using PSR topology promises higher reliability and lower system cost. The design achieves less than 50mW standby power losses and over 86% efficiency at 25% load. The design also features UCC24610 synchronous rectification controller and demonstrates the use of UCC24650's ENS pin output to enforce diode rectification at light load conditions to reduce stand-by power losses.

The IC continuously monitors the input voltage, the input current, and the battery voltage. The design operates like a linear regulator: for voltages up to the Input Overvoltage threshold, the output is held at 5.5V (bq24300), 5.0V (bq24305) or 4.5V (bq24304). In case of an input overvoltage condition, if the overvoltage condition persists for more than a few microseconds, the IC solution removes power from the charging circuit by turning off an internal switch. In the case of an overcurrent condition, it limits the current to a safe value for a blanking duration before turning the switch off. Additionally, the IC solution also monitors its own die temperature and switches off if it becomes too hot. The reference design also offers optional protection against reverse voltage at the input with an external P-channel MOSFET.

Входное напряжение 5 В подается через разъем микро-USB. Данное решение низкой мощности поддерживает выходную мощность в приемнике до 2,5 Вт. Все ключевые элементы передатчика помещаются в 30 мм область, которая соответствует диаметру катушки Wurth P/N 760308101103. Эта область чуть больше US четвертака или монеты в 2 евро. PCB38 х 76 мм (1,5 х 3,0 дюйма), при этом область контура, находящаяся внутри катушки диаметром 30 мм, составляет 700 мм2.
