The PIC32 GUI Development Board with Projected Capacitive Touch enables development of cost effective multi touch graphical user interfaces. It is based on PIC32MX795F512 with 105 DMIPS performance, 512KB Flash and 128KB RAM. If the board is has been plugged in before the software is installed, you may need to update the driver. Do this by right clicking on My Computer, select Properties, then Device Manager, then Universal Serial Bus controllers. Right click on the USB device with the yellow "!" next to it and select Update Driver.

The MAX11800/MAX11801 touch evaluation systems (TEVSs) demonstrate the rich feature set of the MAX11800–MAX11803 family of touch-screen controllers (TSCs) and allow for their evaluation. Each TEVS consists of a USB interface board (UTIB+), a MAX11800/MAX11801 evaluation kit (EV kit) daughter board, and a 4-wire touch sensor (USB cable included). Note: The MAX11802 and MAX11803 are subsets of the MAX11800 and MAX11801, respectively.

Order the MAX11800 TEVS for a comprehensive evaluation of the SPI™-compatible TSCs using a PC. Order the MAX11801 TEVS for a comprehensive evaluation of the I²C-compatible TSCs.

The TSCs provide a complete resistive touch-screen controller solution that targets touch-enabled devices with small- to medium-size displays. The TSCs enable miniaturization of consumer products due to their ultra-small size. Their low power consumption makes them attractive for portable devices.

Each TEVS operates directly from the USB power. Windows XP®- or Windows® 7-compatible software running on a PC interfaces to the TEVS board through the computer's USB communications port. See the Quick Start section in the full data sheet for setup and operating instructions.

The EV kit provides a proven PCB to facilitate evaluation of the TSCs directly by the user. It must be interfaced to the appropriate SPI/I²C timing signals for proper operation. See Figures 12a, 12b, and 13 in the full data sheet for connections and appropriate voltage levels. Refer to the MAX11800–MAX11803 IC data sheet for timing requirements and register addresses.

The MAX1181 Evaluation kit (EV Kit) is a fully assembled and tested circuit board that contains all the components necessary to evaluate the performance of the nonmultiplexed MAX1180-MAX1184 and MAX1190 or multiplexed MAX1185 and MAX1186, dual 10-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADC). The MAX1180-MAX1186 and MAX1190 accept differential or single-ended analog inputs and the EV kit allows for evaluation of each ADC with both types of signals from one single-ended analog signal. The digital output produced by the ADC can easily be sampled with a user-provided high-speed logic analyzer or data-acquisition system. The EV kit operates from 3.0V analog and 2.0V digital power supplies. It includes circuitry that generates a clock signal from an AC signal provided by the user. The MAX11835 evaluation system (EV system) demonstrates a complete solution to drive single and multilayer piezo actuators to create haptic feedback for products featuring touch interfaces. The MAX11835 efficiently generates any type of user-programmable waveforms including sine, trapezoidal, square, and pulse to drive the piezo loads to create custom haptic sensation. The low-power device directly interfaces with an application processor/host controller through an I²C interface and integrates various blocks including a boost regulator, pattern storage memory, and waveform generator in one package, thus providing a complete haptic feedback controller solution.

The EV system is a multiboard system that includes a MAXQ2000 USB touch interface board (UTIB) and a MAX11835 daughter board.
