Базовый проект PMP4442 представляет собой недорогое дискретное решение для питания четырёхъядерного процессора I.MX6. Все DC/DC-регуляторы работают на частоте 2 МГц с целью избежать помех в AM-диапазоне, также их использование помогает добиться компактного дизайна решения. DC/DC-преобразователь первого каскада поддерживает входное напряжение с широким диапазоном (от 6 В до 42 В), что в свою очередь позволяет обеспечить работу системы «старт-стоп», а также сброс нагрузки генератора. DC/DC-преобразователь второго каскада обеспечивает четыре ядра I.MX6 всеми необходимыми шинами питания. I.MX6 не нуждается в силовом секвенсировании различных шин питания, поэтому в данном проекте нет необходимости в использовании секвенсера. This design is an low-cost discrete power solution to power I.MX6 quad core. All the DCDC regulators are running at 2MHz to avoid the AM band interference and provide low solution size. The first stage DCDC converter can support wide Vin range from 6V to 42V, which can support start-stop system as well as load dump. The second stage DCDC provides all the necessary power rails to power up I.MX6 quad core. I.MX6 is very loose on the power sequencing of the different rails so no sequencer is necessary for this design. It uses a 4 layer board with 2oz copper to have better thermal characteristic at 2MHz switching frequency and 85C ambient.

Charge pumps are used to generate the voltage supply for gate drivers, which makes this design easy to implement. By using only one dc-dc converter to generate four voltage rails and therefore minimizing the amount of inductances, this circuit allows small design size.

This reference design implements a video over LVDS solution for automotive infotainment applications.It highlights the support of multi-touch with haptic feedback, LCD backlight control, and ambient light sensing, without the introduction of dedicated support lines back to the host processor. This design is implemented using two boards. The main electronics board, SAT0059 is where the deserializer, microProcessor, backlight controller, haptics drivers and power supply are located. The LCD interface board, SAT0096, is a physical and electrical interface to a specific LCD panel. It connects to the SAT0059 through a Samtec board to board connector and provides connection points for the LCD panel, touchscreen, backlight connections and haptic drivers. The SAT0096 is designed for a Microtips UMSH-8596MD-20T display. If a different display is to be used, a new LCD Interface board would likely need to be designed.

TIDA-00746 is a 17W system-optimized SMPS design for automotive infotainment processor power. The design has been tested for and passed CISPR25 Class 5 conducted EMI limits. All buck converters used in this design is switching above AM band (>1.85MHz). The design is divided into four major blocks: Front end protection: Various protections have been implemented, such as those against positive and negative pulses (ISO7630 Pulse 1, 2a, 3a/b) through TVS, reverse terminal protection through innovative smart diode (LM74610), and battery disconnect switch with OVP protection (PFET). EMI filter: a common mode and a differential filter for conducted EMI suppression. Low EMI front end DC/DC converter: LM53635-Q1 is a switching, synchronous 3.5A buck regulator and is used as a front end DC/DC converter in this design. This 2.1 MHz part is automotive optimized and has low EMI. Apart from the spread spectrum option, the device comes in an automotive-qualified Hotrod(TM) QFN package with wettable flanks, which reduces parasitic inductance and resistance while increasing efficiency, minimizing switch node ringing, and dramatically lowering EMI. Downstream POL buck converters such as, LM26420-Q1 (Integrated dual buck), TPS57114-Q1, and TPS57112-Q1: all POL switchers used in the design switch above AM band. For high frequency noise-sensitive rails, a ferrite bead filter is used.

The TIDA-00887 is comprised of a two-port USB 2.0 hub with short-to-battery (STB) and short-circuit protection on both downstream ports provided by the TPD3S716-Q1. Both downstream ports are configured either as a custom divider mode or a dedicated charging port (DCP) provided by the TUSB4020BI-Q1 USB 2.0 hub if no upstream device is connected. When an upstream is connected, the TUSB4020 hub supports charging via CDP. The ports automatically switch between divider mode, CDP mode, and DCP mode depending on the portable devices connected, in order to provide the fastest charging rate to the connected device. The TIDA-01429 reference design implements a wideinput voltage boost controller, followed by a wide input voltage buck converter set to 5.0 V. The 5.0 V supply is used for powering a Controller Area Network (CAN) transceiver and a compact fixed 3.3 V linear drop-out (LDO) regulator for supplying the C2000 microcontroller. This design has been tested for CISPR 25 radiated emissions per absorber lined shielded enclosure (ALSE) method, CISPR25 conducted emissions via the voltage method, and for immunity to Bulk Current Injection (BCI) per ISO 11452-4, all with CAN communication operating at 500 KBPS. This is a electromagnetic compliance (EMC) vetted 3-stage power tree with controller area network (CAN) reference design that can be used in many automotive applications requiring operation with input voltages as low as 3.5 V. A system basis chip (SBC) is an integrated circuit (IC) that combines many typical building blocks of a system, which includes transceivers, linear regulators, and switching regulators. While these integrated devices can offer size and cost savings in a number of applications, the integrated devices do not work in every case. For applications where an SBC is not a good fit, it might be beneficial to build a discrete implementation of these aforementioned building blocks thus making a discrete SBC.
