PMP10594 is a synchronous 4-switch buck-boost converter reference designwhich utilizes the LM5175 controller for battery charger applications. The output voltage set point can be adjusted by a PWM signal over the range of 7.1V to 9.2V. I2C programming allows independent control of the average input current and charge current. Full scale input current limiting is 6A, while charge current is programmable to 12.5A. The LM5175 average current loop sets a maximum output current of 20A, which should never engage under normal circumstances. Additional pulse-by-pulse current limiting is inherent in the current-mode controller, making this a very robust design. A battery disconnect switch is used to provide trickle charging if the battery voltage is less than 6V.

The PMP10961 is a high power density, 10A buck converter with PMBus interface. The layout is optimized for small form factor utilizing both sides of board and fits in a 0.6"x0.78" area. This circuit is a non synchronous buck hysteretic controller. It uses a low ESR ceramic capacitor at the output and uses a series resistor to generate the ripple. It uses LM3489 which is a high efficiency PFET switching regulator controller. The PFET architecture also allows for low component count as well as ultra-low dropout, 100% duty cycle operation. Another benefit is high efficiency operation at light loads without an increase in output ripple.

This reference design provides a high-performance stereo audio subsystem for use in PC applications. It operates off a single supply, ranging from 4.5 V to 16 V, and features the TAS2770, a digital-input Class-D audio amplifier that provides excellent noise and distortion performance and is available in both WCSP and QFN packages. The design also includes two low-dropout fixed voltage regulators, the TL760M33 and TPS73618, which generate the necessary 3.3 V and 1.8 V system rails, respectively. The reference design’s versatile digital-input interface allows for a wide variety of input formats, while providing output data for voltage and current sense, supply voltage (VBAT) and temperature. The reference design also includes multiplexing to allow multiple input sources to the digital inputs. Additionally, the TAS2770 incorporates an automatic gain controller that can track VBAT to limit the output voltage, as desired. This reference design is to show two distinct ways to protect the TMDS lines of a HDMI 2.0 drivers and retimers from electrostatic discharge (ESD). The HDMI standard is used in many applications from set-topboxes to notebooks to TV's. Since these ports are almost always external they are susceptible to an ESD event. The high speed HDMI 2.0 signals mean that the drivers cannot integrate good ESD protection in the IC so a discrete ESD protection device is needed. The HDMI drivers are also generally extremely sensitive meaning the ESD protection has to be ultra-low clamping. This design will go through the initial HDMI 2.0 compliance data for two setups, the ESD testing done on each board and the final HDMI 2.0 compliance data after testing.
