This small ZETA converter works with input voltages in the range of 6V to 32V. Thank to the ZETA topology, it is able to stabilize the output voltage to 11V, which is inside the input voltage range. A SEPIC converter might be also employed at the expense of higher output ripple voltage.

This TIDA-00145 reference design features the DRV8801EVM which enables a simple to use platform to demonstrate the capabilities and performance of the DRV8801 motor driver for power folding side mirrors. This TI Design is also intended to allow easy evaluation of the automotive qualified version part, DRV8801-Q1. The DRV8801 is a 2.8A peak Full Bridge Brushed DC motor driver capable of driving the retracting function of vehicle side view mirrors. With the built-in automotive protection features of overcurrent, thermal, shoot-through, UVLO protection, and wide input voltage range, this motor driver provides the necessary features to survive the harsh automotive environment. Also, this TI Design provides test data to allow the designer to quickly evaluate the performance of the DRV8801 for their folding wing mirror modules.This design incorporates the DRV8801EVM board to create the solution.

This automotive wireless external mirror control reference design showcases a proof-of-concept solution for an automotive power side view mirror that communicates wirelessly with a control switch. Using TI's automotive-qualified BLE + MCU CC2541-Q1 system-on-chip solution, this reference design enables cost, weight, and fuel savings by replacing expensive and heavy cable harnesses. This SoC also pairs seamlessly with TI's integrated H-bridge motor driver solutions, DRV8801-Q1 and DRV8802-Q1, for fold and mirror position adjustment features. Also, to drive the mirror's heating element, TI's single channel integrated smart FET TPS1H100B-Q1 is used.

The TIDA-01428 reference design implements a 1-A, wide-VIN, buck converter to 3.3 V followed by a compact, low-input voltage, fixed 5-V boost converter for powering a controller area network (CAN) physical layer interface. The design has been tested for CISPR 25 radiated emissions and conducted emissions using the voltage method and for immunity to bulk current injection (BCI) per ISO 11452-4 with CAN communication operating at 500 KBPS. The TIDA-01428 is an EMC-vetted power tree plus CAN reference design that can be used in many automotive applications. A system basis chip (SBC) is an integrated circuit (IC) that combines many typical building blocks of a system, which includes transceivers, linear regulators, and switching regulators. While these integrated devices can offer size and cost savings in a number of applications, the integrated devices do not work in every case. For applications where an SBC is not a good fit, it might be beneficial to build a discrete implementation of these aforementioned building blocks thus making a discrete SBC.
