The PMP15002 is a highly efficient, universal AC input to 5V 3A output reference design for cost-optimized adapter and charger applications. The topology is primary-side regulated quasi resonant flyback with synchronous rectification. With the use of primary-side regulation, it eliminates the need of optical coupler and other external compensation components. This design can pass EN55022 class B conducted and radiated EMI. The efficiency and no-load power consumption of this design meet the EU’s Code of Conduct, Version 5, Tier 2 standard.

This 6.5V @ 2.5A SEPIC converter is designed to operate over a very wide input voltage range. After initial power up at 6V input, the converter can operate down to 4.5V input by implementing a voltage doubler for to provide bias power. The PMP30122 reference design is for an input voltage range from 40V to 55V with an output voltage of 28V@ 0.5A. This design is also tested for a maximum peak output current of 1A. The buck converter is dedicated to supply sensitive loads on one hand - and on the other hand equipped w/ input filter to attenuate reflected ripple to source. The layout itself is made for lowest radiated noise, no VHF ringing at the switch node. Feedback divider is calculated for 24V, 28V and 32V output.
