The PIC32 Audio Codec Daughter Board AC320100 is a high-performance stereo codec board for selected PIC32 hardware development platforms. This board features the AKM AK4642EN stereo codec, which includes built-in microphone and headphone amplifiers. This board is suitable for adding audio input and output capabilities to the PIC32 Bluetooth Starter Kit (DM320018), and is compatible with the PIC32 Bluetooth Audio Development Kit (DV320032).

- Based on the AKM 4642 16-bit audio codec
- The board replaces the Audio DAC (AK4384) daughter board on the PIC32 Bluetooth Audio Development Kit (DV320032)
- This enables microphone capability and full duplex audio I2S from the PIC32
o Audio voice capture
o Bluetooth Hands free profile
o Integrated MEMS microphone on board, or external microphone input

The PIC32 Bluetooth Starter Kit is a low-cost Bluetooth development platform featuring the PIC32MX270F256D MCU. This kit features a HCI-based Bluetooth radio, pushbuttons, Cree high-output multi-color LED, standard single-color LEDs, accelerometer, temperature sensor and GPIO for rapid development of Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP), USB and General Purpose applications.

The Starter kit offers an Android App, Demo code and Bluetooth Serial Port Profile stack for free to get you started.
The PIC32 MCU on the Starter kit executes Microchips’ Free Bluetooth SPP stack & Demo Code to perform full-duplex data transmission over the Bluetooth link to showcase:

The PIC32 Bluetooth® Audio Development Kit provides a comprehensive solution to develop Bluetooth A2DP audio streaming solutions and applications. The board is coupled with two daughter cards: the Bluetooth HCI Radio Daughter Card that demonstrates a low cost Bluetooth implementation and the Audio DAC Daughter Card that demonstrates a high quality 16/24-bit, 32-192 KHz audio conversion/amplification for line or headphones. The kit ships with demo code that enables wireless streaming digital audio from any Bluetooth enabled Smartphone or portable music player or over USB.

This reference design delivers an envelope-tracking power supply circuit for audio power amplifier TPA3128D2 with TPS61178. By adding an audio envelope signal to the FB pin, the TPS61178’s output voltage can change in accordance with the envelope of the audio signal. So the TPS61178 provides a dynamically changing supply voltage to the TPA3128D2. Thus the PA can always keep high efficiency in the whole output power range.

Описание:
This reference design is targeted at space-limited portable applications. The devices in the design operate from either a USB port or AC adapter. The solution has a single power output that charges the battery. A system load can be placed in parallel with the battery as long as the average system load does not keep the battery from charging fully during the 10 hour safety timer. The reference design is charged in three phases: conditioning, constant current, and constant voltage. In all charge phases, an internal control loop monitors the IC junction temperature and reduces the charge current if an internal temperature threshold is exceeded. The charger power stage and charge current sense functions are fully integrated. The board function has high-accuracy current and voltage regulation loops, charge status display, and charge termination. The pre-charge current and termination current threshold are programmed via an external resistor on the bq24040. The fast charge current value is also programmable via an external resistor.

This reference solution is designed to deliver up to 1000mA of continuous current to the battery output when programmed with a resistor on the ISET pin and is programmed at the factory for ~540mA. The USB current limit modes are selected by the ISET2 pin and limits current to a maximum of 500mA (logic high) or 100mA (float or high impedance). A low on the ISET2 pin programs the charge current using the ISET resistor.

The Texas Instruments bq28z610 device is a Battery Pack Manager that integrates gas gauging, and protection for complete autonomous operation of 1-series to 2-series cell Li-Ion and Li-Polymer battery packs. The architecture enables communication between the fuel gauging processor and an internal battery charger controller through I2C broadcast commands. This reference design eases the design process for the customer given that it is a complete pack solution which includes gauging and protection of the Li-ion battery.
